The Shipbuilding Technology Laboratory participates in several European and National Competitive Research Projects, in some of which acting as coordinator.

Within the framework of these research projects, STL has developed international partnerships with Universities, research centers and companies that promote research, including: MIT, Ecole Centrale de Paris, CETIM, ENSMP, CTIF, IST, QinetiQ, Fincantieri, IFREMER, CETENA, Odense Shipyards, CNIM, ETH Zurich, TUHH, Imperial College, DTU, Riso Laboratories, HUT, Chalmers University, ENIM, Gaz de France, TNO, DNV, RINA, LRS, etc.
